Holding Steady: An 8-Week Nervous System Care & Yoga Therapy Group for Family Members Impacted by Addiction

Loving someone with a substance use disorder can profoundly affect emotional, mental, and physical well-being.

Family members often live in a constant state of stress, uncertainty, hypervigilance, and exhaustion while navigating cycles of hope, fear, crisis, and recovery.

Over time, many people begin neglecting their own needs while focusing on the well-being of their loved one.

Holding Steady is an 8-week therapeutic yoga and nervous system care group designed specifically for parents, partners, siblings, adult children, and other family members impacted by addiction. This supportive and trauma-informed series offers space to slow down, reconnect with yourself, and develop practical tools for regulation, resilience, and inner resourcing.

Each weekly session integrates yoga therapy practices such as gentle yoga, breathwork, meditation, guided reflection, and nervous system education. Sessions are designed to help participants reduce chronic stress activation, reconnect with the body, build emotional resilience, and cultivate healthier coping patterns while feeling less alone in their experiences.

Participants will receive:
• Weekly guided nervous system regulation practices
• Breathwork and grounding tools for moments of overwhelm
• Gentle trauma-informed yoga and movement practices
• Guided meditations and visualizations
• Reflective readings and journaling prompts
• Supportive connection and shared processing with others
• Resources and practices to use between sessions
• Increased awareness of stress patterns, boundaries, and self-care needs

This group is not about fixing or controlling a loved one’s addiction. It is about supporting the health, healing, and resilience of the people who have been carrying the weight of addiction alongside them.

Group Details:
• 8 weeks
• Weekly 75-minute session
• Between-session support and practices
